Our story began a long, long time ago, literally before we were born! Rob’s great-grandparents, John and Jean Reeve, were longtime Appleton residents and built a beautiful lifelong friendship with Claire’s grandparents, Oscar and Pat Boldt. When a piece of property on North Coral Hill Road in Ephraim became available, Oscar and Pat seized the opportunity to purchase it, particularly because it was located just up the bluff from the cottage owned by John and Jean Reeve. Generations of friendships blossomed from this family relationship, and now…a marriage!

Although we don’t remember when we first met (probably around third grade), we watched each other grow up as we reconnected every summer in Door County. Our relationship officially began in the summer of 2021, after a highly animated conversation while tubing. Rob’s dad was driving the boat, and noticing our interest in talking to each other (rather than hanging on for dear life), decided he was going too easy on us. We were promptly thrown from the tube into Lake Michigan after arranging our first date, and the rest is history!

We’ve had a bit of a long-distance romance which has lead to a variety of adventures, both at home and abroad. From Copenhagen to Rome, Minnesota to Rome, Milwaukee to South Bend, Door County to the countryside of England, and currently South Bend to London where Rob is completing his last year of architecture school and Claire is studying interior design, we’ve made it work.

But the international intrigue doesn’t stop there! After our wedding we will be moving to the Cotswolds in England, where Rob will work for a small residential architecture firm, while Claire will be designing interiors. We are beyond excited for this next chapter of our lives.
